Momma’s boy

So this Friday is my Mom’s birthday. A few weeks ago, she was complaining that I never draw her in my comics, only my Dad (note: The Outdoorsman is based on my father). So for her birthday, I’m drawing her into my comics universe.

I always thought that behind The Outdoorsman, his wife would be the brains of the team. You got to learn how to kill mythological creatures somewhere, right? Just like my Dad taught me all about hunting, and being a manly man, and all that testosterone stuff, my Mom taught me about literature, and myth, and everything I love about fantasy and science fiction. She had me read the Iliad, and Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and The Rhime of the Ancient Mariner, she also watched Dr. Who (Tom Baker FTW) and Star Trek with me.

So Happy Birthday, Mom. Here’s your first cameo in comics. More to come.
